UTS is committed to practical innovation and to the development of impact-driven research that benefits industry and the broader community, helping shape the world we live in.
UTS has a strong translational and social justice focus in health. Our research is highly engaged with the health sector, industry, practitioners and the worldwide research community.
Data science is emerging as a field of critical importance. This Focus Area includes the ‘science’ of data science and, importantly, the application of data science to all fields of human endeavour.
UTS's sustainability research spans all faculties, encompassing in-depth disciplinary and cutting edge trans-disciplinary research in clean energy, urban futures, climate change adaptation, water, food and resource management.
Understanding technological and societal changes in work and industry globally will be critical to the future quality of life and economic future of Australia, as we create new industries and adapt existing ones to changing environments.
Social Futures research at UTS is reflective of the increasingly complex nature of civil societies and the changes taking place in communities in Australia and around the world.
We have Research Strengths and centres across the university, as well as collaborations in joint research centres with international universities and in large-scale joint research programs, such as ARC Centres of Research Excellence and Cooperative Research Centres.
Our animal and human research ethics and biosafety committees oversee our commitment to research ethics and integrity.
